Day of Prayer for General Conference General Conference (http://www.umc.org/topics/general-conference-2016) is the top policy-making body of The United Methodist Church which meets once every four years. The conference can revise church law, as well as adopt resolutions on current moral, social, public policy and economic issues. It also approves plans and budgets for church-wide programs. Prayer Quilt Ministry

Alabama Basom UMC has been making prayer quilts since 2004. They have donated 384 quilts locally, across the United States and even to Europe. Recipients include former Bills quaterback, Jim Kelly and Robin Roberts of ABC's Good Morning, America. Advanced Lay Servant Course
