Board of Pensions and Health Benefits

The Conference Board of Pensions and Health Benefits shall be elected and serve in accordance with the provisions of the Plan of Union of The Upper New York Annual Conference and The Book of Discipline of The United Methodist Church. The Board shall consist of at least twelve persons including at least four clergy members, four laywomen, and four lay men. The Classes of 2011, 2012, 2016, and 2018 were elected at the Uniting Session of The Upper New York Annual Conference. The normal, full length term of office shall be for eight years, with persons being elected to classes of 2020, 2024, etc., with the membership of the existing classes of 2014 and 2018 having their terms adjusted to 2016 or 2020, respectively The maximum term of service shall be one full term. This Council shall fill its own vacancies between sessions of the annual conference. In addition to the elected members, a Cabinet Representative, the Treasurer/Director of Administrative Services, the Pensions and health Benefits Officer, and a Representative of the General Board of Pensions and Health Benefits shall serve ex-officio without vote.
