The Rev. Dr. Brolin Parker was officially welcomed as the Albany District Superintendent during a rib-crackling but moving ceremony at the Jonesville United Methodist Church in Clifton Park, NY on Sunday, Sept. 25.
Upper New York Area Resident Bishop Marcus Matthews handed him the crozier, the official symbol of the episcopal office, reminding him of his obligation as the leader of the Albany District in the Upper New York Annual Conference.

Albany District Superintendent Brolin Parker resigns for health reasons

Albany District Superintendent the Rev. Dr. Brolin C. Parker today announced he is resigning to take medical leave as he continues treatment for multiple myeloma.
Dr. Parker made the announcement at the Upper New York Area Extended Cabinet meeting in Syracuse; the Cabinet welcomed incoming Bishop Mark J. Webb, who takes over as the resident bishop on Sept. 1.
