DESCRIPTION:Memorial Day Weekend at Sky Lake means one thing--it's Sprin
 g Fling time! Families, young, old, and in between, will enj
 oy this weekend retreat opportunity to relax, play, learn, a
 nd grow in faith. A variety of activities are combined with 
 ample free time, so when you aren't making a craft, enjoying
  the campfire sing-a-long, making ice cream, or going for a 
 boat ride, you can sit back and toast a marshmallow, read a 
 good book, or go for a hike. We have a variety of packages a
 vailable for Spring Fling. Here are your options:Campground 
 (May 24-27)Bring your own tent or camper and set up on one o
 f twenty-five private campsites. Each campsite is located of
 f the unpaved driveway that passes through the family campgr
 ound. A handful of sites even come equipped with 110-Volt el
 ectricity hookups (hurry, these go quickly). Occupancy on ea
 ch site is limited to six persons. An exception to this rule
  is granted for immediate families (parents and dependent ch
 ildren) comprised of more than six persons. Fire-rings and a
  picnic table are provided on each site, as campground guest
 s cook their own food. Showering and toilet facilities are l
 ocated in Caldwell Pavilion in the heart of the campground. 
 The base fee includes a three-night stay and a small program
  fee. You may arrive any time on Friday and depart any time 
 on Monday. Want to extend your weekend? Spend Thursday or Mo

  to enjoy a weekend at Sky Lake without having to "rough it"

DESCRIPTION:Counselors are THE KEY to the success of the outdoor ministr
 y of Sky Lake! The children, youth, or persons with special 
 needs in your family group will look to you for guidance, fu
 n, safety, and understanding as they experience transformati
 on in their faith. We want to make sure that you are properl
 y prepared to handle the crucial role you play in this speci
 al ministry. Your training as a counselor at Sky Lake will b
 e divided into two time periods. Volunteer Training Weekend 
 is the first portion of your training and is scheduled for F
 riday, June 7 at 7:00pm through Saturday, June 8 at 7:00pm. 
 The second portion of your training will occur during the 24
  hours just prior to the campers' arrival at Sky Lake. Wheth
 er you will be volunteering this summer for the twenty-fifth
  time or the first, it is important that you attend both per
 iods of training. A variety of activities are in the works f
 or Volunteer Training that will allow you to have fun while 
 learning and growing in your own faith! A constant during th
 is year's training event will be a focus on God makes all th
 ings new--the theme for 2013. You will also have the opportu
 nity to attend workshops, such as "Youth Development Basics"
 , "No Child Left Indoors", and "Achieving Our Desired Outcom

  (Region 2) will meet July 12-14, 2013 at Cazenovia College.
 The three studies offered this year are:The Living Sacrament
 ally, Living Justly study is a "how-to manual for deepening 
 our spirituality and engaging in mission. Our spiritual pers
 onhood is a part of the way we do social action and how we l
 ive in community. We will look at John Wesley’s focus on per
 sonal and spiritual holiness."The Roma of Europe is a cultur
 al overview of the Roma, "the single largest minority group 
 in Europe." The Roma, often called gypsies, have a "fascinat
 ing − often violent − history, but they also have a deep spi
 rituality." The Roma culture is one that most of the U.S. is
  not familiar with. This study will help form an understandi
 ng of the Roma, and provide "opportunities for us to respond
 ."Poverty returns for a second year. "Wesleyan movements hav
 e embraced this concern by creating community centers with w
 hich to minister to destitute people. A large question is: '
 Are we avoiding or encountering the poor?'"The cost per pers
 on with housing is $190 for adults, which includes dinner on
  Friday through lunch on Sunday; the cost to commuters is $1
